Dolce & Gabbana Throw a Lavish Masked Ball in Venice For the Fashion Flock

Inside Her Wardrobe: Samantha Wills

Samantha Wills is a big sharer on social media, and it's thanks to her candid snaps that we got an inkling of just how chic her gypsetter style/wardrobe/life generally really is. Be the jewellery designer hosting glamorous galas in her adopted home of NYC, or checking in with her H/O team in Sydney  this girl does it in style. Think high fashion accessories plus an unsurprisingly impressive jewellery collection, coupled with an underlying boho aesthetic and you've got the drift of Ms Wills' style MO. Want to see inside her wardrobe
? This is not one to be missed.

Insta Glam: The Week's Best Instagrams From Paris Haute Couture

Couldn't make it to Couture? You didn't have to be seated in the front row to keep up with the latest in Haute style! This week, our favourite fashion insiders were reporting live from their phones. Sharing Instagrams from behind the scenes of coveted collections like Chanel Haute Couture, Atelier Versace, and Dior Haute Couture (just to name a few!), these snappers kept us in the know and up on all the buzz. Click through to see this week's best shots.

What Makes a Collection Haute Couture?

The word "couture" gets thrown around quite a bit, but in reality it's a term reserved for a rarity of occasions. Haute Couture is a name protected by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and limited to a select group who qualify for the distinction. Which is why the semi-annual Paris Haute Couture shows are such a brief and exciting period! Houses including Chanel, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab
(as shown from left to right) create spectacles with ornate and intricate hand-stitched made-to-order work. So what techniques in particular should you be looking out for on the runways? Find out— and zoom in on all the embellishments — in the gallery!

Celebrity Wedding Dresses and the Designers Who Created Them

When it comes to planning your wedding, celebrities can offer a wealth of inspiration. After all, they've got more money/A-list connections than you could poke a bonbonniere at  so why not snoop how they celebrate their big day? Or more specifically, what they wear to celebrate their big day. While you may not have Vera Wang
on speed dial like the Kardashians, you can certainly take wedding dress inspo from this round-up of our favourite designer-clad celebrity brides.

Reem Acra Resort 2014: Living the High Life

Wallflowers need not apply for the Reem Acra Resort 2014
collection. Made for a confident woman, this collection is filled with sharp sheaths, decadent gowns, and plenty of lace and embellishment. The palette has plenty of black and white (a continuing theme for the season), along with pale nudes, bold primary colours, and even a dabble into jewel tones. The emphasis is at the waist with slim belts on trim dresses, fit and flares, and red carpet-worthy ballgowns that nip into Scarlett O'Hara waistlines. Flashes of sheer illusion netting add plenty of sex appeal to cocktail and black-tie styles. Click through to see the full Reem Acra 2014 Resort Collection.

Miranda Kerr Leads the Model-Off-Duty Pack

Of course, models look amazing on the runway, but it's their off-duty street styles that we really love to see. Each girl has her own aesthetic, and we love them all for different reasons. We can thank Kate Moss for proving that leopard goes with everything. We count on Miranda Kerr to sport the most killer accessories and we look to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for her effortlessly styled layers. As always, Alessandra Ambrosio puts a sexier spin on casual cool, and Gisele Bündchen makes even jeans and t-shirts look high-fashion. There's more inside — like Cara Delevingne's punky Brit-girl style and Karlie Kloss's take on the classics — so keep clicking to see all our favourite models and their top street-style moments this year.

Chain Store Steals: Window Pane Prints

The black and white colour combo doesn't look to be abating for the season ahead, so strap in for a chic-looking Summer! The best way to wear the trend, in our humble opinion, is to forgo the colour-blocking of seasons past and look for modern monochrome prints and patterns. Top of our must-buy list is something (heck, anything!) in a window pane print. It's a simple way to work the look without going OTT on the theme. Our favourite six chain store buys are waiting for you beyond the break. .

Fashion trends in 2013

Whether we choose to consciously compute the fact or not, how we look does impact the way we feel. It may be that we dress to a theme that evokes a mood, that we choose to pull on something that incites a certain confidence within us, or that we – for no definable reason at all – simply fall in love with a particular piece of clothing or accessory. Either way, the reality is that a large part of how our style evolves each year has to do with the clothing, hair, beauty and accessory trends sweeping fashion, sweeping the runways or the magazine pages or the streets. Not because we have to follow them, but because they inspire us. Each year we analyse what’s happening in the fashion world as a way to understand where the trends are coming from, where they’re going, and – should you so choose – how you can adapt them to your own personal style, in a
way that suits you.
